The BSHA holds an Annual Assessment Day for potential new Judges, who are welcome to apply to join the Panel. All applicants MUST submit a full CV or experience and background to be considered. This can be done either in writing, or email to admin@britishshowhorse.org. Candidates are encouraged to obtain references from a proposer and seconder who can be BSHA Members or BSHA Panel Judges. Please ensure that you are totally familiar with the current Rulebook if you are accepted for assessment.

What to expect on your day

The Association asks that you dress appropriately as if you were attending a judges appointment, if you are being assessed for ride please come correctly dressed, with chin-strap hat. Please do not be late for the assessment day. The Association asks for applications only from those candidates who are able to maintain the highest integrity and standards for the Association and its Members. No Smoking or Mobile Phones will be allowed on the venue during any Assessment. 

Full Panel (Conformation & Ride)

You will go and look over horses with our panel assessors and be asked to describe what is in front of you, good and bad points and type.

You will be asked to ride a number of horses and describe the ride to the assessors at the ring. 

You will be asked to sit down for an interview with our assessors and asked questions relating to aspects of showing, the Association and our Rulebook, please download the Rulebook from the website.

Conformation
