ABOUT THE BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION

The British Show Horse Association was founded in 1935 by a group of enthusiastic owners and supporters of show hacks and cobs. Riding horse classes were added to the BSHA in 1983 due to their ever-growing popularity. Over the years, it has grown into one of the UK’s leading organisations for show horses, offering opportunities for competitors at every level, from those taking their first steps into the sport to experienced professionals.

WHO IS THE BSHA FOR?

The BSHA is designed to be inclusive and accessible to anyone with an interest in showing. Whether you are new to the sport,  looking to progress into affiliated competition, an amateur producing your own horse, or a professional rider, the Association provides a welcoming environment. Owners, breeders, and supporters of show horses are an important part of the BSHA community, helping to create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for all involved.

Being a member of the BSHA allows you to have the opportunity to qualify and compete at some of the most prestigious shows in the country such as Horse of the Year Show, London International Horse Show and Royal International Horse Show.
