Memberships
Who needs to join the BSHA?
If you are looking to compete in any affiliated BSHA showing class, you will need to be a member of the BSHA. All Riders, Owners, Exhibitors, Trainers, Producers, Handlers and horses must be members in order to compete in affiliated classes.
By becoming a BSHA member, you agree to abide by the rules and objectives of the Association.
Memberships and registrations are valid from 1st January until 31st December 2026, regardless of when the previous year’s application was submitted.
Membership & Registration Options
The British Show Horse Association offers a range of membership and horse registration options designed to suit everyone involved in showing, whether you compete, own, or produce show horses.

| Young Member Membership | For 15 - 18 years olds, inclusive. All BSHA affiliated classes, including qualifiers for HOYS, RIHS, LIHS and BSHA Nat Champs. | £60.00 |
| Hunter ONLY Membership | All BSHA affiliated Hunter classes including qualifiers for HOYS, LIHS, and BSHA Nat Champs. | £50.00 |
| Working Show Horse Membership | BSHA affiliated Working Show Horse classes including qualifiers for RIHS, LIHS and BSHA Nat Champs. | £45.00 |
| LIHS Qualifier-Eligible Membership | This is the lowest level of membership required for eligibility to enter LIHS qualifiers. If any of the other memberships detailed above are already held for the current year, this one will not be required. Please note: Horses must also hold a minimum of Qualifier-Eligible Registration in order to be eligible to compete in LIHS qualifiers. | £6.00 |
| LIHS Qualified Membership | If a member holds a 'LIHS Qualifier-Eligible Membership', this additional membership must be paid upon qualifying for a LIHS final. | £30.00 |
| In Hand Owner | All BSHA affiliated In Hand classes. Entitles the holder to register an unlimited number of In Hand horses for the current year free of charge. | £48.00 |
| Day ticket | A day ticket will allow entry into all affiliated classes with the exception of qualifiers for RIHS (excluding Amateur and Working Show Horse classes) and HOYS. | £30.00 |
