At this early stage in the season, the office has already received several complaints.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all members, that when using social media to publicise results, it is a breach of the Amateur rules to tag or include any sponsors in the same post containing Amateur results, this includes all Brand Ambassador references. Please refrain from such posts as it will jeopardise any Amateur status. Please also be reminded, it is in breach of the rules, for anyone present in the ring to be wearing gifted clothing that could be deemed as sponsorship, this includes rugs for the horses. 

As you will all be aware the Association has Stewards representing the Association at shows, and as a result of their recent attendance we have received notification from some Stewards regarding observations of inappropriate involvement from Professionals/Professional Grooms with Amateurs competing in Amateur Classes. 

Please be reminded that on the day of the competition, Professional help is not permitted. Examples of Professionals helping in the collecting rings and having a huge presence and displaying outside influence during the class is in breach of the rules. It is inappropriate for Professional to be involved on show days, an example would be a Professional giving advice at ringside or obviously handing their grooming kit to someone to enter the ring. Please be reminded that the Amateur rider and their non-professional groom should arrive at the ring fully prepared for the class, with no obvious Professional presence. We also wish to remind you that Professional help can be given to an Amateur in any Open classes, however these must come on the day of the show, after the Amateur classes.
