I was honoured once again to be elected your Chairman for the 2023 season and with that I would like to welcome two new members to the Board, Stuart Hollings and Magnus Nicholson who bring a wealth of experience to the Association. 

The ‘Nat Champs’ returns to Addington Equestrian Centre in September after spending time at Arena UK, we are thankful to all the staff at Arena UK for the help that they gave us making the show such a major success and the most talked about show in 2021. The members have however, always regarded Addington, as home of the ‘Hack and Cob’ and so its return will be welcomed by many. 

The Association has some fantastic new initiatives for the 2023 season, including the new Amateur series at London International Horse Show for December 2023 of which more details will follow in the New Year with a list of qualifying shows being published. The new ‘Rising Stars’ series will be inspirational, educational and foremost fun with an element of bringing back showmanship amongst our competitors. By linking up with the ASAO, London International Horse Show and the BSPS, the aim of the series is to encourage within the Amateur ranks members to support their local County/Agricultural show and new competitors to come showing and have their chance to shine at a wonderful final at the end of the year. 

The Masquerade Ball was a huge success and plans are well underway for another event next year, the generosity of our membership who offered the most fantastic raffle and auction prizes raised over £5,000 which will go towards supporting BSHA events, so thank you!
