Once again the Amateur Points Awards were kindly sponsored by Nupafeed Supplements UK; this is the seventh consecutive year that Nupafeed has sponsored the Awards and our thanks goes to Mrs Sheila Noble, Director of Nupafeed UK, who was at the 2017 AGM to present the Awards to the well deserving Amateur Members.
The Overall Points Champion for 2017 went to Avril Bartolomy and Clantara Shadow Play who repeated their win of 2016; they had another very successful season in the series, once again winning the Open Maxi Cob, Home Produced and National Championship points sections of the Nupafeed Amateur Points Awards. Avril was presented with the Nupafeed Trophy for the Overall Points title and a Nupafeed Saddle Cloth for the National Championship title, kindly donated by Nupafeed Supplements UK.
The Open Hack section for 2017 was won by Lucinda Haines, riding her own Colbeach Mark of Respect; this pairing took the runner-up spot in the Home Produced and Overall Amateur Points Championship sections and also had a well deserved ninth in the Small Hack class at the Horse of the Year Show.
Hayley Erner won the Open Cob and was third in Home Produced section with her Heavyweight Cob, Its Abracobdabra. This duo enjoyed a successful season with a third in the Amateur Heavyweight Cobs at the Royal International Horse Show and a win in the same class at the BSHA National Championship Show in September.
Another very successful partnership in the Nupafeed Amateur Points series was Chloe Vaughan riding the Large Riding Horse, ABC Ricki Zee; Chloe won both the Open Riding Horse and Young Rider categories, a great achievement.
Other successful Members included, Annette Hance & Kincullen Moonstone, winners of the Novice title; Virginia Rider & High Office, winners of the Side Saddle category; Jodie Aston & Hope Henrietta, winners of the Working Show Horse title and Jennifer Turner & So Stylish, winners of the In-Hand section.
